Haha... I was scrolling through all my MSN contacts just now... and I notice that the nicks of all those in Uni are something along the lines of mugging and stardying... lolX...
I'm amused. At least for these 5 min till I have to hit the books again.
Oh, and I'm actually thinking of abandoning this blog and just shifting my stuff over to Skritches, in a desperate attempt to generate traffic there. Or maybe there ARE people following the blog, but they're just not leaving any messages.... *glares*
Oh, and for some reason, the SMU Internet connection isn't very kind to streaming Class95... What's up with that? Or is it Class95's fault? :P
Lalalalalalala..... I seriously need to get my life back after this period...

I've been having a really good time the past 2 days, after my midterms ended. Just been allowing myself to enjoy whatever free time I have now, not having to worry about tests or assignments...
Which reignited a spark of inspiration in me to start drawing again. So I've been churning out drawings at a much faster pace than I've been during the past few weeks. :)
I really miss drawing and having the time to draw... It's been so long since I had the pleasure of just sitting down and having ideas come out of my head and flow onto paper (or my tablet).
I also had the time to just browse online, looking at other people's illustrations. It's quite inspiring for me to see that there are people out there who have taken their talent and what they love doing and made it their career. And it reminded me of the aspirations that I had last time, wanting to do graphic design and drawing.
I miss those days. :)

I'm quite happy the midterms are OVER!
Just one day of rest, though, then I'll have to start mugging again :(
Anyway, my other blog, Skritches, finally has a tagboard, as well as some new stuff. The tagboard's just waiting to be used, so go ahead and scratch something there! :)

Left-Handed Swordsman
Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Today is the first time I feel like I'm "fighting with my left hand" in Uni.
Those of you who attended Connect Conference ought to know what I'm talking about. :P
For those who didn't, it basically means that I feel like a fish out of water doing Social Sciences. Only now do I appreciate that my abilities are really not up to par with what I thought I was able to achieve.
Which can actually be a good thing, because then I can really choose to rely on God, my Master Prof, for wisdom and guidance, instead of my own abilities.
For now, I'll just continue learning to spar with my left hand, and hopefully, I'll become a proficient "left-handed" swordsman in time to come. Haha.

Of Poverty and Death
Tuesday, September 04, 2007
My readings for this week haven't been very cheery for the most part. Psych readings were on death and dying, and how people facing death go through different stages before coming to acceptance.
Soci was also about death, but they also touched on poverty, and it's really made me think about what causes poverty. I mean, it's all well and easy for us who are fairly well-off to say that education's a cure-all to the ills of poverty, but when you realise that the families themselves have alot of constraints, it really makes you wonder if it's that simple or even possible sometimes for them to break out of the poverty trap.
But anyway, I'm just really thankful that God allowed me to be born into a good family environment, and that I have the chance to even be in SMU, studying about these things.
